Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Speechka collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Speechka website, Mac app, billing flows, and related services. Speechka is operated by an individual developer.
1. Information we collect
- Account information, such as email address, authentication method, Google sign-in information if you choose Google, account identifiers, and password-related account state if you use email sign-in.
- Billing and access information, such as Stripe customer ID, plan, payment status, subscription status, trial status, invoices, credit balances, top-up purchases, and customer portal events. Speechka does not store full payment card numbers.
- App settings, such as selected source and target languages, saved voice status, session mode, credit usage, and account preferences.
- Audio and voice data needed to provide Speechka, including microphone audio during translation sessions, generated translated speech, personal voice samples, and voice-related provider IDs.
- Translation session data, such as transcripts, translated text, session timing, mode, and error state, where needed to provide the live log, troubleshoot issues, and measure credit usage.
- Technical and diagnostic data, such as app version, device and operating system information, network errors, crash or error logs, security events, and support messages.
2. How we use information
We use information to operate Speechka, authenticate users, process payments, manage trials and credits, provide real-time transcription and translation, generate personal voice output, route audio, provide support, improve reliability, prevent abuse, detect fraud, enforce Terms, and comply with legal obligations.
3. Audio, translation, and personal voice
Speechka processes microphone audio during test and broadcast sessions so the service can transcribe speech, translate it, generate translated voice output, and display a translation log. Personal voice samples are used to create, replace, manage, or delete your saved personal voice. Do not record or upload a voice sample unless you have the right to use it.
4. Service providers
Speechka uses service providers for core functionality. These may include Supabase for authentication and database services, Stripe for payments and billing, Google for Google sign-in, OpenAI for translation, Deepgram for transcription, ElevenLabs for voice generation, Render for hosting, Namecheap for email, and Resend for transactional email. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to Speechka. A current provider list is available on the Subprocessors page.
5. Legal bases
Where applicable, we process information to perform our contract with you, for legitimate interests such as service reliability, support, security, fraud prevention, and product improvement, with your consent where required, and to comply with legal obligations.
6. Sharing information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information with service providers when needed to provide Speechka, process payments, support users, secure the service, or comply with law. We may also share information if required by legal process, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a future transfer of the service.
7. Retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as needed to provide Speechka, maintain security, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You can request account deletion in the app or by contacting support@speechka.io. Deletion may remove account data, app settings, voice samples, and access to credits. Some billing, security, and compliance records may be retained where required by law or legitimate business needs.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to processing of your information. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To make a request, contact support@speechka.io.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No system is perfectly secure. Keep your account credentials safe and contact support if you suspect unauthorized access.
10. International transfers
Speechka and its providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
11. Cookies
Speechka does not currently use non-essential cookies or advertising trackers on this website. If analytics or similar tools are added later, this Privacy Policy will be updated before they are used.
12. Children
Speechka is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
